This blog is a journal of the information, resources and experiences I have experienced while fostering dogs for the Chesapeake Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin. This information is solely based on my experience and what I have learned while living with dogs with special needs. Some were brought into my house with full knowledge of their disabilities and some I had to figure out what was going on with them. My sole purpose of this site is to share my experiences in hopes that others can learn from my successes and my failures.
I am not a professional dog trainer. I have worked with and seek the advice of several dog trainers and behaviorists to assist the dogs in my home.
I am not a veterinarian, a veterinary technician, nor do I work in the veterinary or animal industry. I have worked very closely with my vet and other vets to obtain and share knowledge to help the dogs in my home.
I grew up with dogs, cats, horses, goats and a parrot. I have always loved animals and am intrigued by their behavior, their ailments and their communication.
