Patterns and Play Dog Training Class

Patterns and Play Dog Training Classes

Patterns and Play Class

Patterns are a great and fun way to learn. Dogs, puppies and people learn best when they are having fun. With Control Unleashed Pattern Games, we all learn valuable every day life skills while having fun. Leslie McDevitt’s Control Unleashed patterns allow us to work with dogs and puppies on learning how to be good family members. Pattern games also teach humans how to communicate effectively with our canine companions.

How will patterns and play teach my puppy to be obedient? How will they learn to sit, down, stay, etc?

  • Pattern Games teach focus and interaction
  • Pattern Games will help your puppy/dog learn boundaries and burn energy
  • Pattern Games help puppies, dogs and people learn how to work together, communicate and most of all have fun
  • Games are way more fun and can be done multiple times a day and are fun and not dreaded.

In Patterns and Play class, we will learn how to incorporate games into our daily lives in small doses. In class we will alternate games/work and puppy play.

About the trainer: Pam Culver

Pam and Rufus

Pam uses a combination of positive reinforcement, pattern games from Control Unleashed and the techniques she has used with hundreds of rescue dogs over the last 10+ years of fostering and working with behavior issues. Pam has shared her home with challenging dogs from disabilities, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, feral, shy and hyperactivity. Pam draws on her personal experience in addition to the many training mentors she has learned from over the years. Pam grew up training horses and teaching people to ride horses in the last 10 years she has transitioned into working with rescue dogs and dog owners.

Pam is a Certified Control Unleashed Instructor. Pam completed a program with Leslie McDevitt and the Control Unleashed mentors to ensure she is teaching the most accurate and up-to-date information on the Control Unleashed methods. Certification of Control Unleashed® instructors provide dog owners access to Leslie McDevitt’s Control Unleashed techniques to help dogs and “dogs with issues” learn how to relax, focus, and work reliably in either stimulating or stressful situations. Certified Control Unleashed Instructors (CCUIs) instruct and implement meaningful behavior change through Control Unleashed methods. Rather than being bound to a world where people think of dog training as nothing more than cue-and-response, Control Unleashed allows conversational training, where both handler and dog can cue each other to perform behaviors and give feedback. It is the dog who takes the driver’s seat and directs his counterconditioning process. Letting the dog make choices and actively participate provides the dog with control over their learning, establishes trust, and fosters a spirit of communication. It also makes humans more humane. Certified Control Unleashed Instructors learn to become experts at being flexible and adjusting in the moment to meet the changing needs of individual learners: human, canine, and other animals, too!.

Do you have a specific in-home challenge you want to work on or are you interested in Private Dog Training? Pam also does Private In-Home and Virtual Sessions. Please visit the Private Dog Training Sessions page.
